I marvel at how I keep getting used to this earth suit that I wear from day to day with its many changes. Twenty years ago, I was so much younger, and my body was in better shape. I could walk miles without breathing hard and climb stairs without having to slow down. Now, I was never a runner so I will not even pretend that twenty years ago I even mildly jogged. But back then when I would lay on my side everything reasonably stayed in place. Now parts of this earth suit will hit the mattress waiting for the rest of me to follow. I mean I giggle in places that I never thought possible. Yet, the word of God says that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. And that is the truth! I look at my face in the mirror and what I see starring back does not always reflect what I feel inside. They tell me that I do not look my age and I certainly do not feel my age. However, there are some mornings when this earth suit does not quite move as fast. The legs are not as agile as they once were. Somedays I feel like the tin man in the Wizard of Oz. I need a little oil in my joints! And yet the fact that I am fearfully and wonderfully made is still the truth.
Scientists give us the run down on how these earth suits function and I am totally amazed at their findings. However over time these earth suits get worn out, sometimes breakdown and do not always function as they should. But the fact still remains that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Come on earth suit it is time to get up and get moving!
