Skinny Jeans

Research tells me that skinny jeans were introduced in 2005 and since then I have been asking myself, “What were they thinking?” I mean I consider myself an open-minded person but sometimes I grapple with some things. I mean did they mean for skinny jeans to describe the type of jeans or were skinny jeans supposed to be a description of the person who wore them or both? Okay, so I bet you have already guessed where I am going with this. But first, let me say that I am talking about my own experience and nobody else!

First, I am not skinny by any means. And when I say skinny, I mean thin. Certain areas of me are thicker than others and I have no hang-ups when it comes to my body. But I am aware that I should not even attempt to put on a pair of skinny jeans. I do not care if they come in size 99 Plus! Yes, I am plus-size, and I am not ashamed to be plus-sized. The only diet that you will find me on is a see-food diet…see food and eat it! I love food and I hate to exercise. However, I do because it is healthy for me to do so! Now back to the skinny jeans. I have always had big calves and for me to try and squeeze into a pair of skinny jeans would be a show in itself. Trust me there would be a lot of pulling and jumping and huffing and puffing going on and it would not be pretty! I am vertically challenged so they have said that the boot cut is the best one for me. But I tell you, I just want to hug the folks who brought back the big leg jeans. I am in heaven y’all! I think in the day that we used to call them bell bottoms. They are making a comeback. But, even if I had kept my old bell bottoms, there is no way I would be able to wear those puppies now.

In closing. I have better things to do than have a tug of war with a pair of jeans who would take one look at all of this and scream, “Nooooooooo!” At the same time, I am looking at them and screaming, “I don’t care for you either!”
